Working together for progress
The Cleantech Park Arnhem ecosystem
At Cleantech Park Arnhem, collaboration is key. Together with companies, research institutions and governments, we are building a strong cleantech ecosystem that promotes knowledge sharing, stimulates innovation and accelerates sustainable technology. In this way, we jointly contribute to solutions for global environmental problems and a sustainable future.

Partners in Innovation for clean mobility
We are one of the founders of the Clean Mobility Center. This initiative facilitates innovative products and services in the field of clean, smart and safe mobility. For and by companies, educational institutions and the government, more innovative power and synergy are ensured. A special collaboration with the Arnhem and Nijmegen University of Applied Sciences (HAN) has also been started. Around 100 students work on projects from the business community in the Mobility Innovation Center.

Where Innovations in New Energy Are Born and Grow
2030 is just around the corner. The energy transition needs a major leap forward, requiring the accelerated application and scaling of innovations. Connectr Energy Innovation facilitates this through an Innovation Program, Innovation Lab, Shared Facilities, and the Core Organization. Innovations are directly tested, demonstrated, and implemented in practice via Connectr, allowing them to grow from there. By creating impact on both the energy transition and the (regional) economy, and by connecting human capital to technology, we ensure sustainable solutions.
Connectr Energy Innovation is an initiative of Cleantech Park Arnhem, the municipality of Arnhem, the province of Gelderland, and HAN University of Applied Sciences. It focuses on three key technologies: electrical energy engineering, electrochemical energy storage, and sustainable drive systems.

Cross-sector Collaboration Between the Energy and Creative Sectors
Creative x Energy (CxE) is an initiative by Creatief Arnhem and the Municipality of Arnhem, in collaboration with Connectr and a wide range of local, regional, and national partners, including Cleantech Park Arnhem. Through the Creative x Energy program, the energy/environmental technology sector and creative professionals jointly tackle the enormous societal challenge of the energy transition.
The creative sector in our city is becoming increasingly professional and thus a full-fledged dialogue partner for the energy sector. Cleantech Park Arnhem is the place where physical collaboration is encouraged. For over ten years, collaboration has taken place here at various levels and scales, resulting in many new products and companies — for example, the design of charging hubs for Allego by the KRAFT architects team, both based at the park.

The Engine of Arnhem’s Future Economy
Together with the Municipality of Arnhem, we are working on the cleantech campus of the future. We jointly promote the area. The business locations Het Broek, Cleantech Park Arnhem, and Nieuwe Haven are of great importance for Arnhem’s economic development. They house innovative, locally and regionally connected companies and provide employment opportunities for the people of Arnhem. The municipality aims to guide the sustainable spatial-economic development of these three business locations and will therefore create a unified area vision. Cleantech Park Arnhem serves as a knowledge partner for the municipality. This collaboration contributes to a broadly supported area vision, and together we work towards a clear direction for future spatial and economic developments in the region.
“Companies committed to clean energy and sustainable materials form the engine of Arnhem’s future economy and create new jobs,” adds Nermina Kundić, alderwoman for Economy at the Municipality of Arnhem. “Cleantech Park Arnhem plays an important facilitating and connecting role in this and already hosts around 130 companies and approximately 3,000 jobs. The sharpened profile of the park will help attract new companies and talent and further strengthen Arnhem’s position as an attractive city for business.”

Knowledge, Support & Network for Promising Scale-ups in Sustainable Energy.
Generation-E is an acceleration program for scale-ups working on smart and clean energy solutions. The program helps young companies with growth potential to scale up faster by providing access to knowledge, networks, capital, and practical facilities. The collaboration with Cleantech Park Arnhem forms an important foundation in this regard. The park offers not only space and facilities but also a strong ecosystem of companies, governments, and knowledge institutions actively involved in the energy transition. Within this environment, Generation-E participants can immediately test, collaborate, and accelerate. The combination of an entrepreneurial network, expert support, and physical space makes this partnership unique. Together, Generation-E and Cleantech Park Arnhem contribute to accelerating innovations that bring a sustainable future closer.

Integration Between Education, Business, and Government
The collaboration between the Arnhem and Nijmegen University of Applied Sciences (HAN) and Cleantech Park Arnhem started with a shared ambition to address several sustainability challenges, including sustainable mobility. HAN decided to offer students on-site education at the park — in a different way, with much more focus on practical learning and connection with companies. This required a new way of thinking and working. Today, this approach is firmly embedded within the triple helix collaboration between education, business, and government. Later, Connectr was launched following the same triple helix principle. HAN and Cleantech Park Arnhem are initiators of Connectr. Within Connectr, students can connect even more easily with companies.
Students at the park work on real-world challenges faced by companies. For example, in the Powerlab, they develop solutions for the electricity grid; in Circular Economy, they work on advancing the circular economy; in the Mobility Innovation Center, they focus on developing new mobility solutions; and in the Hydrogen Lab, they contribute to hydrogen development. This creates space both for technology and for the people who make a difference.

The Future is Here
INNOVATE is an innovation platform focused on young professionals interested in the future and innovation. The platform organizes events such as the annual INNOVATE Experience and inspiring meetups where innovators and changemakers share their ideas. INNOVATE focuses on societal themes like the energy transition, sustainability, and digital transformation. Cleantech Park Arnhem is proud to be involved as a knowledge partner in INNOVATE. We support the development of innovative solutions and help build networks. Together, we contribute to a stronger, more innovative Arnhem-Nijmegen region, where collaboration and creativity are central.

Oost NL acts as a partner, connector, and enabler, creating a fertile environment for innovative entrepreneurs in Gelderland and Overijssel who work towards sustainable change. They build a livable future where technological innovation and breakthroughs contribute to sustainable food production, accessible healthcare, a strong industry, and smart energy. This is done from the strength of the East Netherlands region, commissioned by the provinces of Gelderland, Overijssel, and the Ministry of Economic Affairs.

Strengthening Connections in the Arnhem-Nijmegen Region
The Economic Board focuses on strengthening connections in the Arnhem-Nijmegen region by leveraging economic strengths, with an emphasis on collaboration within the triple helix model. This is where leading developments take place in Energy, Health, and High Tech. Together with businesses, educational and knowledge institutions, and governments, The Economic Board stimulates innovations in these key sectors and the cross-overs between them. Cleantech Park Arnhem is a knowledge partner of The Economic Board.

Sustainability of Our Energy Flows
Cleantech Park Arnhem is actively working on making the energy flows on the park more sustainable. We do this together with Veolia. Veolia helps companies achieve their sustainability goals in the areas of energy, water, and raw materials. For example, by using residual streams to generate energy or by utilizing residual streams from one company as raw materials for another company on our park.
